What are the main difference between BIAB and Acrylic Nails?
Acrylic Nails are often used to add length, create bold designs, and are very durable. Made from a powder and liquid mix that hardens, they are long lasting and typically last between 3-4 weeks but are often prone to lifting.
BIAB Nails are flexible, chip resistant and typically last up to 3 weeks, BIAB is a thick gel applied in layers and cured under the UV lamp. BIABS are often used to strengthen the natural nail and typically enhances the natural nail giving a natural look.
Why are my acrylic nails lifting and how can I prevent this?
Numerous factors can affect the adhesion duration of an acrylic nail. Some of the below can effect how long your acrylics last before lifting:
Frequent water exposure can weaken the bond between the natural nail and acrylic overlay.
Using your acrylic nails as tools can cause them to lift... including picking, biting, tapping and applying pressure to the nail.
Skipping infills - waiting too long to get nails infilled can cause the whole acrylic extension to lift, regular maintenance is required to keep the quality of the nail to a high standard.
Here's how to prevent it:
Keep your nail's dry - wear gloves when cleaning or emerging in water to limit water damage and moisture growing underneath the nail
Apply cuticle oil daily
Be gentle with your nails - don't use them to open tins, peel stickers etc
Book regular infills to prevent lifting and maintain a strong bond
What is the difference between henna and tint?
Henna eyebrows - this treatment stains the skin, great for a bolder, fuller looking brow. This treatment typically last between 1-2 weeks on the skin and 4-6 weeks on the hair. This does all depend on the skin type of the client and daily care provided.
Eyebrow tinting - this treatment is a shorter less permanent treatment, typically lasting 1-3 weeks depending on daily care and skin type. Tint primarily tend to tint the hair rather than the skin and has a more subtle appearance. You will get a more natural hair based brow rather than a defined outline.
